In a city as famous as Barcelona, some places shouldn't be missed. Use this day to get a feel for the Catalan capital. Go to the Barrio Gótico and look around the beautiful gothic cathedral. Walk along Las Ramblas, the popular pedestrian shopping street, and check out Boquería market. You could also visit El Borne and the marina, or wander around Raval, the most cosmopolitan neighbourhood with a broad range of cultural attractions and bars. And of course, you must go to the gem of Barcelona: Sagrada Familia, Gaudí's masterpiece. If you still have time, also go to Güell Park, another work by the famous Spanish architect. At night, you can enjoy the city's atmosphere by soaking up the atmosphere at one of the many well-known nightlife areas.

Spend your second day in Barcelona getting to know more about the work of Gaudí. Visit Güell Park (if you didn't already go yesterday), and also stop by the Batlló House and Milà House (La Pedrera), all works by the Catalan artist. If you prefer football to art, then go to the temple of F.C. Barcelona: Camp Nou. To find some stunning views of the city, why not take the tram up to Tibidabo hill; once at the top, you can also visit the Sagrado Corazón temple. If you would prefer a more relaxing day, Barceloneta beach is the perfect place to spend a few hours and maybe even splash out on a beautiful paella.

With a full day to spend in Valencia, you should visit the City of Arts and Sciences, the most important modern tourist destination in the city and one of the most impressive pieces of architecture in Europe. It has several attractive buildings including the biggest aquarium in Europe and an interactive science museum. Walking in the city centre is also a must, with a visit to the Carmen neighbourhood and to the two imposing towers (Torres de Quart and Torres de Serranos) that flank the entrance to the old city. Also visit the cathedral or the Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange). If you want to party, Valencian nightlife won't disappoint. Drink something in the city centre or make your way to the Ruzafa neighbourhood, which also has plenty of bars.
